Social Media Management Intern

Fall 2020

Abigail Thomas Digital is seeking a creative, responsible intern to join our team. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of creating successful social media content. You will focus on all aspects of providing high-quality social media content for clients.

The social media intern will gain experience in copywriting optimized for social media platforms, using social media management platforms such as Facebook’s Creator Studio, creating graphics optimized for specific social media platforms, and understanding and interpreting analytical data provided by social media platforms. From the beginning stages of content brainstorming to end-of-month analytic reports, they will be involved in every step of the process!

Intern Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of content calendars and content strategies for social media
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of social media campaigns
  • Social media copywriting optimized for specific social media platforms
  • Research and develop curated hashtag lists based on specific topics
  • Generate reports based on analytics of social media accounts
  • Seek and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials both on and offline

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Interest in social media, graphic design, and marketing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with Instagram and Facebook
  • Strong computer skills, ex. Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Sheets
  • Ability to think creatively and generate ideas
  • Self-directed and able to work without supervision
  • PREFERRED: Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator
  • PREFERRED: Experience in graphic design with an understanding of colors and typography

Schedule & Compensation

  • This is an unpaid internship
  • College credit will be given where applicable 
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate class and work schedules
  • 10-15 hours per week 
  • Duration depends on requirements for internship credit
